Description de la fonction

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) play a pivotal role in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in drug discovery anddevelopment, and are extensively used on an analytical and preparative scale for achiral and chiral separations. As part of the Chemical Capabilities, Analytical and Purification (CCAP), the successful candidate will work in the Analytical Chemistry / High-Throughput Purification(AC/HTP) team, where they will participate in LC and/or SFC analysis and purification of newly synthesized small molecules and peptides from different Drug Discovery programs. This provides an opportunity to explore state-of-the-art instrumentation and automated platforms, and to participate in real-life industrial research programs. After an initial training provided by an experienced team member, the candidate will use different separation technologies and will work independently and/or under supervision in our AC/HTP labs. The candidate will use analytical and preparative chromatography (either HPLC and/or SFC).

Additionally, the candidate will explore new chromatographic methods and separation selectivity, aiming at advancing resolution in our current chromatographic platforms and/or to reduce current cycle times in our sustainable purification platform.

Profil

Responsibilities and duties:

- Work together with a group of highly motivated scientists in a pioneering laboratory in the

Discovery Chemistry department at J&J.

- Contribute to analysis and purification of small molecules to support drug discovery

programs.

- Explore news ways to advance resolution in preparative chromatography.

- After an initial training and introduction in the department, able to independently operate

and propose alternatives or solutions for challenging analytical problems.

Qualifications:

- Strong theoretical and practical background in analytical chemistry.

- Basic understanding of chromatography fundamentals.

- Familiarity with LC-MS and/or SFC is preferred.

- Highly motivated and open attitude to operate and learn in a dynamic scientific

environment, both independent and as part of a team.

- Fast learner, independent & critical thinker.

- Able to efficiently work with common software packages like Office 365, SciFinder, ...

- Basic knowledge of chromatography software Masslynx or other analytical data

software is a plus.

Mentored by an industry expert, you will contribute to the analysis and purification of small molecules using different separation technologies, with the goal of delivering high-quality data and high purity samples to different drug discovery projects. Ultimately, these molecules will progress in the clinical stages to reach patients in need. In this context, you will have the chance to contribute to the improvement of patients' lives.
